I come to you with the wines we’ve selected together, all glassware, and supporting materials. Wines are decanted, if necessary, and then tasted and examined in a manner that seeks to more fully understand the wine and the place and time in which it was made. I lead the tasting and provide the information, but it’s far from a lecture. We discuss the wines in depth in a way that’s both informative and conversational.

Three weeks is a healthy benchmark for most tastings. Depending on the journey you select, wine may have to be shipped and then have a period of time to settle down from its travel before it’s ready to be tasted.

At the time of booking, you will sign an estimate for wine cost and pay the base fee plus 20% of the estimated wine cost. Having this up front allows me to secure all materials.
On the day of the tasting, you will pay for the cost of the wine. These transactions are kept separate for legal reasons.

No problem! You’ll get a full refund for any cancelation so long as it comes more than three weeks before your booking.

I offer different time frames, depending on the tasting journey you select. The 60-90 minute option is most common, so I’d suggest having guests arrive expecting the tasting to start around 6:00.

Absolutely not! Evaluating a wine is such a multifaceted undertaking, so there’s tons to learn and absorb at all levels of understanding. A good teacher can take big concepts and shrink them down to a form that beginners can easily understand, while at the same time taking concepts to which experienced wine drinkers are familiar and expand them to reveal a deeper understanding.

Absolutely! A capable sommelier can find good examples at all price points, within reason.

Of course!

All tastings are customizable, and there are many options available in half bottle (375ml) formats!

Of course! Let’s say you have a 1990 Leoville that’s in its window and you want to share with friends before dinner. We can build a tasting around that, focusing on the Chateau through time, or maybe a general focus on St. Julien, or maybe the vintage itself and supplement it with 1990 Brunellos and Super Tuscans and maybe a 35-year-old Riesling from the Mosel. We can design it any way you’d like!
